The human eye is unreliable near the detection threshold — and worse under the fluorescent light of a bathroom at 6am. LineSight normalizes the image, locates the control and test zones, and measures optical density across each band.

Questions worth answering plainly.
Is LineSight a medical device?
No. LineSight is a consumer tool that helps you read a test you have already taken. It is not cleared or approved by the FDA or any equivalent regulator, it does not diagnose pregnancy, and it is not a substitute for a healthcare professional. The test itself — and its manufacturer's instructions — remain the authority.
How accurate is the reading?
LineSight measures what is on the strip; it cannot make an inaccurate test accurate. Its job is to remove human ambiguity from reading a visible result, and to be explicit when the image quality or the strip itself doesn't support a confident read. If your result matters — and it does — confirm it with a clinician.
Does it work with digital tests?
Digital tests display words rather than lines, so there's nothing to measure. LineSight will read and log the displayed word, but progression tracking needs a line-based strip or cassette test.
Which brands are supported?
Over forty common strip, cassette, and midstream formats are individually calibrated, and a generic mode handles anything else with a standard control/test layout. If your test isn't recognised, you can submit the format from inside the app — nothing is sent unless you tap send.
Do you store or sell my data?
We don't have it. Analysis runs entirely on your device, photos and logs live in your app's private storage, and there is no account to attach them to. We can't hand over what we never receive.
What about an evaporation line?
Evap lines are typically colourless and appear outside the valid read window. LineSight uses the read timer plus the colour profile of the band to flag likely evaporation — but the most reliable defence is still reading inside the window and retesting in 48 hours.
